Exploring the Arkansas Public Theatre

The Arkansas Public Theatre, previously named The Rogers Little Theater, showcases traditional, modern and innovative Broadway musicals and plays and also hosts a variety of occasions all through the year. APT has the distinction of being the one 100% volunteer community theatre located in Northwest Arkansas.

Arkansas Public Theatre provides live performances for audiences, students and performers, improving Rogers Historic District. Thus, making Rogers historic District a destination for the region.

History

The Victory Theater was created by the renowned Rogers designer A.O. Clarke and was opened in the month of December 1927. It was used as an area for public gatherings. Furthermore, it was also renovated numerous times to become an entertainment and movie theater, before it was shut down in the 1970s.

Last 2008, with the generous assistance of the Wal-Mart Foundation, huge subsidies from charitable donors, along with the efforts of dedicated volunteers, Victory Theater was purchased by the City of Rogers and agreed to use it as the permanent home for the APT.
