Since our first recorded job in 72207 in 2018, we have worked at 125 homes and completed 238 jobs in the ZIP. A lot of what we see here is the same story: one door, one bay, not much room to spare.

That changes the job in a few ways.

One door does all the work. In a single-car garage there is no second door to share the load. Every trip in and out runs the same springs, rollers and opener, so parts wear on their own schedule. When a spring breaks, the car usually stays put until it is fixed.

Headroom is tight. Low ceilings and short garages limit where an opener can hang. A wall-mount opener that sits beside the door instead of overhead can free up ceiling space and run quieter. We will tell you on site whether your garage is a good fit; more on our opener page.

Side room is narrow. Tracks and brackets need a few inches on each side of the opening. In a tight garage, a track knocked even slightly out of line can bind the door, so we check alignment on every visit.

Clearance for the car. When the door stops short of fully open, mirrors and roof racks find out first. Getting full travel back is often an adjustment, not a new door.

One small request that saves time in a tight garage: if you can, park outside before the technician arrives and clear a couple of feet along each wall where the track runs. In a single bay, that space is the difference between a quick repair and a lot of shuffling.

When repair stops making sense. A single door that has been patched several times, with dented sections, a tired opener and mismatched parts, can cost more to keep alive than it is worth. We will lay out both numbers, the repair and a replacement, and let you decide. Most of the time the repair is the right call; when it is not, we will say so.
